The Emergency Services Department is staffed with registered nurses and doctors available 24 hours a day. McNairy Regional Hospital has four ambulances, two advanced life support units and two basic life support units and is staffed with fifteen employees.

The hospital is approved by the Department of Health and Human Services, Medicare, Tennessee Department of Health and Environment, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee Preferred Provider Organization, Tennessee Primary Care Network, Tennessee Department of Education Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, State Area Vocational Rehabilitation, State Area Vocational Technical School (LPN Training), and the American Red Cross.  The hospital takes an active role in providing the ongoing testing, training first aid teams and other services needed by area industries.

McNairy County's Public Health Department and the State Department of Human Services offices are located in Selmer, providing general public health and welfare services.

Quinco Counseling Center is a full time satellite center of the Quinco Community Mental Health Center of Bolivar.  This local facility provides counseling for individuals with personal and emotional problems.

The McNairy County Development Center, located in Selmer, provides training in independent living skills for mentally handicapped adults.  This center provides training in prevocational and vocational skills.  The Center also contains Group Homes for men and an Extended Employment Service.  The Child Development Center, located in Selmer, offers professional assistance to younger children.

There are also several Home Health Care Agencies that service the Selmer/McNairy County area.  McNairy County is the home of many civic clubs and organizations, serving the area within civic volunteer, cultural growth, and service.
